My research interest focuses on understanding how algae, plants and their symbiotic microbes are communicating and coexisting in natural ecosystems. I am using omics tools to identify chemical cues exchanged by the hosts and their symbionts. I am open for collaborations to provide my expertise in metabolomics, microbiobiology and the holobiont.

As a trained chemical ecologist, I bring light to the function and activity of microbes in diverse ecosystems. I am now leading a research group studying the pathogens that control the algal biomass in aquatic ecosystems. We aim to reveal their resilience to global changes and how the food web is impacted. Our group is supported by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG: SFB 1127 ChemBioSys, Project number 239748522).
