Main Focus

Since 2022, I am leading a research group studying the major pathogens that control the algal biomass in aquatic ecosystems. We aim to reveal their resilience to global changes and how the ocean food web will be affected. Our group is further supported by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG, German Research Foundation SFB 1127 ChemBioSys, Project number 239748522). Our group is hosted by the Max Planck Fellow group Phytoplankton Community Interactions as well as the Institute for Inorganic and Analytical Chemistry, Faculty of Chemistry and Earth Sciences at Friedrich Schiller University Jena).
I am open for collaborations to provide my expertise in metabolomics and the plant holobiont.

Curriculum Vitae

As a researcher in marine chemical ecology, I study the diverse symbiotic interactions in aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems. My general research interest focuses on understanding how algae, plants and their cohort of microbes are communicating to coexist in diverse ecosystems. I am using the omics as a tool to identify the chemical cues exchanged by hosts and its symbionts in oceans.
