Bill Hansson elected foreign member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences
With the award of membership, CAS recognizes his outstanding research achievements and his commitment to the expansion of scientific cooperation between the Max Planck Society and CAS in China.
Bill Hansson, director of the Department of Evolutionary Neuroethology, has been elected to become a foreign member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS). With this membership, the CAS recognizes outstanding research achievements by scientists who are not Chinese citizens. Bill Hansson is a renowned expert in insect olfaction and behavior. As the Max Planck Society's vice president from 2014-2020, he further strengthened research cooperation between the Max Planck Society and the CAS in China.
