Main Focus
I am broadly interested in the diversity and evolution of highly specialized associations between insects and their microbial symbionts. I specifically focus on the development of bacteriomes, symbiotic organs dedicated to maintaining bacterial symbionts intracellularly, and investigate the genetic basis underlying their formation during embryogenesis in bostrichid species.
