Nomthi Kanyile and Ana Simão Pinto de Carvalho honored at 10th International Symbiosis Society Congress

In the category "doctoral researchers" Nomthi Kanyile received the prize for the best presentation and Ana Simão Pinto de Carvalho the prize for the best poster.

The 10th International Symbiosis Society Congress in Lyon, France, was very successful for our participating scientists: In the category “doctoral researchers”, Nomthi Kanyile received the award for the best talk for presenting her research on “Cuticle enhancing symbionts for a durable and waterproof armour: how nutritional symbionts enhance protection against natural enemies and desiccation in grain pest beetles”. In the same category, Ana Simão Pinto de Carvalho received the best poster prize for presenting her research on “Evolution of molecular mechanisms regulating mutualism establishment: small genome responding to host's needs.” Both are doctoral researchers in the Department of Insect Symbiosis. Congratulations!
