Career Development

Pursuing a PhD comes also with the challenge of anticipating a matching career path for oneself. To help with the decision making process, the IMPRS offers courses that contrast different careers (e.g. academia vs. industry), provide application training (CVs, interviews), or teach grant proposal writing. A special offer are events that allow exchange with IMPRS alumni on their career choices. Permiting pandemic alert levels, we are also offering excursions to biotech companies in- and outside Jena.

We promote exchange with IMPRS alumni, for example through a "Speed informing" format where current doctoral researcher get to quizz alumni on their career path, receive advice and build networks.
