Main Focus

I study Lagria villosa beetles and their defensive Burkholderia symbionts. My work is to identify symbiont molecular mechanisms that aid in colonization and understand how the host responds to symbiont presence over developmental time. I am interested in using molecular and microbiological techniques to determine the factors that mediate partner specificity symbiotic interactions.
