Everywhere in nature we find interactions between insects and host plants caused by odor stimulation. Those complex volatile odor composites have to be analyzed to find out the main interesting components for the flies and moths. In our analytical laboratory we combine GC and GC-MS with several different injection systems ( SSI, SPME, TDU, Headspace)with neurological methods like EAD and SSR.

My main responsibility as Chemist in the HAN department is to supervise the chemistry unit. Apart from maintaining the equipment, I'm also active in performing actual research by developing methods for odor collection, measurement and analyses.
I'm responsible for our stock of more than 500 synthetic odors.

In our department I'm the contact person for equipment and inventory.
