In memory of Suyog S. Kuwar

It is with great sadness that we have to announce that one of our former researchers and IMPRS alumni, Dr. Suyog S. Kuwar, died on April 2, 2021, in Pune, India, due to a Covid-19 infection. Suyog came to our institute as a doctoral researcher  in 2010 after he was selected to receive a fellowship from our IMPRS.  His PhD project on “The adaptive response of the serine protease superfamily of the cotton bollworm Helicoverpa armigera to dietary protease inhibitors” was supervised by David Heckel and Yannick Pauchet from the former Department of Entomology. In 2016, he received his doctorate from Friedrich Schiller University with a “summa cum laude”. After working as a Postdoc at Iowa State University in Ames, IA, and the University of Florida in Gainesville, FL, USA, he had recently returned to India. He is survived by his parents, wife and little daughter to whom we express our deepest sympathy. We will always keep him in good memory.
