Wilhelm Boland appointed honorary member of Beutenberg Campus Jena e.V.
As part of the “Noble Gespräche” lecture series, the chairman of the board of Beutenberg Campus Jena e.V., Prof. Dr. Christoph Englert, awarded the first honorary memberships to Prof. Dr. Wilhelm Boland and Prof. Dr. Hartmut Bartelt on October 23, 2025, at the Abbe Center Beutenberg.
The association thanked the two former board members for their commitment and for their dedication to the association's goals.
In his role as director of the MPI for Chemical Ecology, Prof. Dr. Wilhelm Boland was one of the founding members when Beutenberg Campus Jena e.V. was established in 1998 as a competence network of the research and start-up centers based at Beutenberg in Jena. Between 2007 and 2025, Prof. Dr. Boland was active on the board for over 18 years and provided significant impetus. The establishment of a daycare center at Beutenberg can be traced back to his initiative.
This benefits many of the 3,650 employees at the Beutenberg Campus today, who find support in balancing family and career.
