Wild Relatives of Arabidopsis

Studies of evolution and ecology of natural plant populations are facilitated by availability of a model species with modern molecular tools. Because Arabidopsis is the best-known experimental plant system, its close relatives have been chosen for an international collaborative project to develop infrastructure for molecular ecology and evolution. These pages summarize the evolutionary relationships and ecological context of the wild relatives of Arabidopsis.
