Tag der Bibliotheken 2018

October 24, 2018

Today is the day of the libraries in Germany (#meandmylibrary #TagderBibliotheken). It has been celebrated every year on October 24 since it was launched in 1995. We and our librarians would like draw your attention to the libraries which are culturally indispensable locations for the storage of information and the transfer of knowledge.

Libraries have always treasured accumulated knowledge. Although today’s libraries still house books, knowledge in form of scientific publications is primarily available electronically, for example in the E-Library of the MPI for Biogeochemistry/MPI for Chemical Ecology.

"I like working in the library.  What’s being published by scientists in both institutes is really exiting. My goal is to always keep the publication lists on the homepages up-to-date."

"The most important part of working at a library for me is connecting with people and providing them with information."
